GitFit – Privacy Policy

Introduction

GitFit (“the App”) is a mobile application provided by Ono Yuuki (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you enter in the App

The App allows you to configure Tabata-style workout timers and track your workout sessions. For this purpose, you may enter or generate information such as:

Workout interval settings (work time, rest time, number of rounds)
Timer presets and configuration preferences
Workout completion history used to display contribution-style graphs

All of this information is stored locally on your device using local storage mechanisms (such as SharedPreferences or similar). We do not collect, transmit, or store this workout or configuration data on our own servers.

1.2 Information collected by third-party services (Google AdMob)

The App displays advertisements using Google AdMob, a service provided by Google LLC. In connection with advertising, AdMob may automatically collect certain information from your device, including but not limited to:

Advertising ID (for example, Google Advertising ID)
IP address
Device information (device model, OS version, language, etc.)
App usage information related to ad performance (such as impressions and clicks)

This information is collected and used in accordance with Google’s own privacy policy and terms, and is not collected or stored by us directly.

2. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

To provide and operate the App and its workout timer features
To maintain and improve the App’s stability and functionality
To display and optimize advertisements through Google AdMob
To analyze usage trends in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable way (through third-party services)

We do not use your workout configuration or completion history for profiling or marketing, and we do not transmit this data to our own servers.

3.1 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob for advertisement display. AdMob may collect and process information as described in Section 1.2. This data is handled by Google in accordance with its own policies. We do not have direct access to personally identifiable data processed by AdMob.

3.2 Sharing of information by us

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties, except in the following cases:

When required by law, regulation, or legal process
When it is necessary to protect our legal rights or the safety of our users or the public
When you have given explicit consent

4. Data Storage and Retention

4.1 Workout and configuration data

Workout completion data and timer configuration data that you enter or generate in the App is stored locally on your device only. We do not store this data on any external server under our control.

If you uninstall the App, the data stored by the App on your device will generally be deleted. However, residual files may remain depending on your device or OS behavior.

4.2 Data collected by third parties

Any information collected by Google AdMob or other third-party services is stored and managed by those third parties in accordance with their respective privacy policies. We do not control their data retention periods.

5. User Choices and Controls

5.1 Managing your workout and timer data

You can modify or reset your timer settings and clear your workout sessions (for example, by resetting data) from within the App where such options are provided. If you wish to remove all data, you can uninstall the App from your device.

5.2 Advertising and personalization settings

You may be able to control or limit personalized advertising by adjusting settings on your device (for example, resetting or limiting your Advertising ID) or through Google’s ad settings:

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for general use and is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us. We will promptly review the situation and take appropriate action, including deleting such information if necessary.

7. International Users

The App may be used from countries or regions outside of Japan. Please note that our primary place of operation is Japan, and laws regarding data protection and privacy in your country or region may differ from those of Japan. By using the App, you consent to the processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice within the App.
